Carrollton (Ga.) Top247 cornerback Dorian Barney tells InsideTheU that he plans to be in South Florida on March 3 as the Hurricanes get set to kick off their spring slate.
The Hurricanes offered the nation’s No. 7 cornerback in January, but previous relationships with Zac Etheridge and Will Harris allowed Miami to quickly make up ground.
“Coach Etheridge, I’ve been in contact with him since he was at Auburn. I didn’t talk to him when he was at Houston, but when I seen he got the job at Miami he hit me up immediately. I think it was like the next day. We’ve just been building that relationship ever since. With Coach Harris, he was recruiting me when he was at Florida, and then he went to Miami so that’s making it a little easier for me to consider them,” Barney said. “With [Mario] Cristobal, I simply talked to him final week. That was my first time ever speaking to him. They’re all fairly good guys. [Terry] Jefferson, he is an assistant I have been protecting involved with.”
“Actually simply the vibe that I catch with them over the telephone as a result of I’ve by no means seen these guys in particular person, however you could possibly inform if you’re cool or you may dangle otherwise you get vibe with an individual,” Barney mentioned.
“I simply need to see every thing. I simply need to construct that relationship with the coaches increasingly, meet [defensive coordinator Corey Hetherman], and simply actually see how dangerous they need me as a result of issues are coming to crunch time. Trying ahead to establishing my [official visits] earlier than spring ball after which making my resolution earlier than my season,” Barney mentioned.
