SANTA CRUZ, California (KSBW) — Santa Cruz police say {that a} car went over a cliff into the ocean on Monday.
A police spokesperson stated the incident was reported at West Cliff Drive and Swift Road at round 11:21 a.m.
Police say the car that ended up within the water crashed with one other car earlier than going off the cliff.
Firefighters say that two bystanders jumped in to assist save the sufferer floating within the water. Santa Cruz Hearth rescue swimmers took the sufferer from the bystanders to the harbor patrol vessel.
Santa Cruz Hearth Chief Rob Oatey says that one sufferer is being flown to an out-of-county trauma middle.
“Thanks to each bystanders who jumped in to avoid wasting this sufferer’s life. These few seconds had been pivotal within the teamwork of this save,” stated Marine Security Officer Brendan Daley.
