All through her 27-year tenure on the South Florida Regional Planning Council, Government Director Isabel Cosio Carballo’s major focus has been the creation of collaborative, broad-based partnerships with private and non-private sector, non-profit, philanthropic, and neighborhood leaders.
Ms. Carballo and the planning council have recognized areas of alternative and addressed problems with regional concern equivalent to transportation, reasonably priced and workforce housing, schooling, entry to alternative, the atmosphere, and financial improvement.
She has spearheaded the Southeast Florida Regional Partnership and its profitable utility to the US HUD Inaugural Sustainable Communities Regional Planning Grant Program.
Ms. Carballo now serves on the boards of the Higher Fort Lauderdale Alliance, Life Sciences South Florida, Broward County Local weather Change Activity Drive, Miami-Dade Public Faculties twenty first Century College Board Advisory Committee, and the Coordinating Council of Broward.
“The overall function of the South Florida Regional Planning Council is articulated in its mission, which is to determine the long-term challenges and alternatives going through Southeast Florida,” she stated, “and help the area’s leaders in growing and implementing artistic methods that lead to extra affluent and equitable communities, a more healthy and cleaner atmosphere, and a extra vibrant financial system.”
