MIAMI BEACH, FLA. (WSVN) – A controversial proposal to finish the lease for a Miami Seashore theater has been withdrawn.

Creatives and members of the filmmaking group made their voices heard throughout a gathering Wednesday morning as Miami Seashore commissioners debated the destiny of a movie show caught in the midst of controversy.

The controversy began after the Oscar-winning movie, No Different Land, bought out screenings on the cinema final week in addition to this week.

The documentary, made by a crew together with Palestinian activist Basel Adra in addition to Israeli journalist Yuva Abraham, is alleged to painting the “destruction of Palestinian villages within the West Financial institution by the hands of the Israeli navy.”

Miami Seashore Mayor Steven Meiner, who’s Jewish, demanded the movie be pulled from Miami Seashore’s O Cinema theater, calling its content material antisemitic and threatening to chop their lease.

A fee assembly was held Wednesday morning, with commissioners partaking in heated debate.

His controversial proposals drew a big crowd of each commissioners and attendees, most of whom voiced their opposition.

As of Wednesday afternoon, Mayor Steve Meiner has come ahead and formally revoked his determination.

Meiner turned emotional as he revoked his proposal, citing the quantity of backlash and hate mail he had obtained.
