(WSVN) – A Marine from Miami-Dade has been awarded a prestigious honor at her army base. 7’s Heather Walker shines the Highlight on her service.
Meet Marine Cpl. Stephanie Ossorio.
Cpl. Stephanie Ossorio: “I’m an ammunition technician with Second Fight Readiness Regiment.”
That’s her official rank and job title. That is the extra casual approach she’s described.
Marjorie Perez, mom: “She is, she is a badass. Sure, I might undoubtedly outline her as that.”
And her mom isn’t the one one who calls this 20-year-old a badass.
Cpl. Stephanie Ossorio: “So, everybody in my household calls me that. I’m the primary one to enlist in any respect in my household, so seeing my accomplishments, that’s the phrase that they use.”
Cpl. Ossorio’s newest accomplishment is an enormous one.

Final month, at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, she was named II Marine Expeditionary Drive Marine of the Yr in her unit. Greater than 12,000 Marines have been eligible for the honour.

Cpl. Stephanie Ossorio: “I performed softball, basketball, flag soccer and wrestling. Everybody understanding that, properly, if I wasn’t in school, I used to be performing some sports activities occasion.”
She nonetheless performs softball and is making an attempt to earn a spot on the All-Marine Softball Workforce.
